UNleashed and other Unity in Naperville volunteers served at Feed My Starving Children in Aurora on Monday, August 23 and packed over 7,000+ meals that will be sent to those in need in countries around the world. Thank you to all who came out!
FMSC is an Christian organization whose mission is simply to pack and ship meals formulated specifically for starving children in Haiti, El Salvador, Indonesia, North Korea, Nicaragua, The Phillipines, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Our work will involve hand-packing a prepared mixture of rice, soy nuggets for protein, dehydrated vegetables, vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian chicken flavoring into small, easy to prepare pouches, each of which provides six highly nutritious meals.
While the formula was designed to save the lives of severely malnourished and starving children, the ingredients also improve the health, growth and physical well-being of children who are no longer in immediate danger of starvation. A team of food scientists continues to monitor the FMSC formula to ensure that it meets nutritional needs for the world’s hungry children.
